In the News!

From Caterpillar to Butterfly!

I began Walk Kansas this year with the intention of just increasing my activity and eating right for the short duration of the event. I ended Walk Kansas with a (probable) increase in the length of my life!!  When I started this program, I led a VERY sedentary lifestyle.  I could tell you what programs I was scheduled to watch on TV every night of the week. I started out walking 30 minutes to 1 hour a day and eating more fruits and vegetables and whole grains. I am now enjoying regular exercise, I am counting calories and have no idea what TV shows are currently running. I have lost 15 pounds, 2" off of my biceps, 1" off of my waist, 1" off of my hips, and 2" off of my thighs!!  I have also seen a marked decrease in my blood pressure levels. Walk Kansas has changed my life!! Thank you so much for the wonderful program and the opportunity for a caterpillar to turn into a butterfly!
