Turkey Tortilla Roll-ups
The Kids Love These!
Makes 15 servings
Ingredients:
3 eight-inch whole wheat tortillas
4 tablespoons garden vegetable cream cheese (1/3 less fat)
1/2 pound deli shaved turkey breast
3/4 cup shredded lettuce
1/4 cup shredded Colby and Monterey Jack cheese
Directions:
Remember to wash your hands!
- Spread tortilla with cream cheese.
- Lay turkey on tortilla and then sprinkle with cheese and lettuce.
- Tightly roll up the tortilla and then cut into 1 1/2-inch segments. You will need to cut the end to even up the segments because of the curve of the tortilla. This should give you 5 rollups per tortilla.
You can change the type of meat, cream cheese, and shredded cheese to make new flavors of roll-ups.
Children watch what you do, so be an active parent. You shape their attitudes and behaviors. Encourage them to be physically active. Expose them to different kinds of activities. Take family walks, exercise together, or do household chores together — you can burn calories and get a clean house at the same time. Make sure what they are doing is age appropriate and something they enjoy. As they get older, they can move to more organized activities such as soccer, basketball, wrestling, or other sports.
