For Participants
Get your walking shoes ready – it's time for Walk Kansas!
- Join a team (your captain will register the team)
Note: You can also go solo as a team of one - With your team-mates, select a virtual challenge trail (4 options)
- Complete your registration online after you receive the email invitation
- Learn with the Walk Kansas newsletter
- Try a healthful recipe
- Participate in local classes, programs and events
During the 8 weeks
- Report amount of fruits and vegetables eaten and glasses of water you drink (optional)
- Log online and report minutes of moderate/vigorous physical activity OR daily steps (from fitness tracker); log cups of fruits/vegetables you eat and glasses of water you drink (optional)
What activities count?
- Any moderate or vigorous intensity activity. Learn more from this Activity Guide (pdf)
Strengthening exercises also count and these activities are part of the Executive Summary: Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, 2nd edition.
